Happy Halloween!

Yay for Halloween! My baby is so cute he scored TONS of candy! First things first. Our festivities started last night. Let's see if you can guess what we did...

I love the fact Bug was eating the icing in front of me, asked for the picture, and then made a face like he was completely busted. That's my boy! Acting the part. We didn't do anything special. Added butter and eggs and mixed. Made colored icing and added sprinkles and TA DAAA!

Lucky enough, we are the only ones eating these cookies because Bug kept licking the sprinkles off his hand before getting more.

We did not get to the pumpkins because Bug just wanted to look at them and not cut them. Fine by me. I am not one to push him to do something he doesn't want to do.

Well today we did the trick or treating and I thought for sure the whole time Bug was going to hide behind me - but he was out there with the big boys yelling trick or treat and saying his please and thank yous. I love the compliments I get from other parents saying how polite he is. Especially when mom's turn around and tell their older kids to take notes from the baby.

Yup - that is Buzz Lightyear you see. He was so excited to be a purple happy ghost Aunty Michelle was so wonderful to make for us and at the last minute changed his mind. I guess that's the mind of a three year old.

When I have more time I will load the pictures of Bug and all his candy, but I do have to do my medical terminology homework. Hopefully this week goes by fast. I miss my Bug and can't wait to kiss him!

TGIF...

No longer stands - I used to wish it were Friday and then I gave up my weekends to start working Sundays.

♫ I'm gettin' paid by the hour, an' older by the minute.
My boss just pushed me over the limit.
I'd like to call him somethin',
I think I'll just call it a day. - Alan Jackson ♫

Plus, Wednesdays are my favorite days! Give you one guess why!! ♥

Corbin is leaning how to tell me when he's tired and has been putting himself to bed at night. I'm not to sure how I feel about this one. My favorite thing is holding him and rocking him to sleep. I was heart broken the first night and then I found this...

Yes ladies and gentelmen, that's my bed. My son just put himself to sleep in mommy's bed. Can't win them all and if that gives me a reason to love on him some more and cuddle with him, I'LL TAKE IT!

Today Wade and Michelle had one of the their anniversaries - YAY for love!! ♥ If I ever decide to have a relationship again I definitely want to be able to have one like theirs. They were meant for each other in every way possible!

♫ You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You're right there to save me
You make me see how much I have - Tim McGraw ♫

So Bubbie and I babysat the kids and Uncle Scottie today. We had so much fun. They are so cute! I am always up for baby Avery love and Bug love. Bubbie and Corbin read a lot of books while I loved on baby Avery.

This was originally a picture of Avery eating dinner, but Bug wanted to be in the picture with her and felt the need to dominate. At least they are the most adorable things in the world!

Wow - resemblance anyone?

Alright - time to go get the sweet little thing that put himself to sleep in my bed.

And we're back...

♫ Just the two of us, we can make it if we try
Just the two of us
Just the two of us, building castles in the sky
Just the two of us, you and I -Will Smith ♫

Alright - I am back in action. The last couple of days have been HECTIC to say the least...let's start with Tuesday's festivities. As much as I didn't think it would happen the way the weekend and Monday went, I made it to 28 years of life. Thank goodness!

My presents from the kids were letters to spell ART so I can do something crafty. HAHA me crafty, yeah OKAY. Well here's how this works. Michelle has this awesome blog Land of the Misfit Toyz and she puts up tutorials of everything she does, and let me tell you, she does a lot of freaking awesome things. A.R.T is what I will be attempting to do. I'll be following the tutorial. If you scroll down on her blog you'll see the awesome table she created as well as the G-rated version of the gift she got me. I had to search through a lot of the box to take this picture, so enjoy it, and I'm sure if you can think of a bad word it is in this box. Wade and Michelle love me and lately there have been a serious of inside jokes - or as we say, Michelle has a way with words. She a treasure. HAHA.

My new magnets:

I'll have to take the time and write Michelle a cute little story and post it online with the words blurred out. Haha. You get to fill in the blanks! :)

It's been awesome having Corbin just about all week. He's been having accidents at night, so I think we might have to go back to pull ups for a few days. I'm not too worried because when he started using the bathroom he did really well, had a week of accidents, and after that was perfect. So I'm going to hope this is the same thing.

I know there was nothing exciting today - work work work, school school school, and the best of it all the love of my life - BUG! ♥

November is going to provide a lot of entertainment! We will have Grandma come stay, I tread the waters of mediation again - my final fight, Auntie Amber (AKA Lovie) will be joining us for Thanksgiving, and then come the Christmas tree! Yes, I am one of those that gets the Christmas tree Thanksgiving weekend!!

I have to say I'm looking forward to the next two months and can't wait to start the new year. Something tells me the divorce will finally be over, the bankruptcy will be over, Corbin will be where he needs to be, and I can fully move forward with my new life.

Karma has been coming around bit by bit, but something tells me Karma isn't done just yet. Good thing for me!

♫ I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance - Lee Ann Womack ♫

AHHHHH.....

I think the world is coming to an end. Okay, maybe not that drastic, but I've been so swamped I haven't been able to blog about the awesome birthday present I got that is going to provide loards of entertainment for us. So until I can get my homework and other things done I have to behave and not blog.

So stay tuned. I should be back in action either later tonight or tomorrow....

Enjoy the music while you wait. (This damn song has been in my head ALL day!)

♫ I'm waitin' on the sun to set cause yesterday aint over yet
I started smoking cigarettes there's nothing else to do I guess
Dusty roads aint made for walking, spinning tires aint made for stoppin'
I'm giving up on love cause love's given up on me

I gave it everything I had and everything I got was bad
Life aint hard but it's too long to live it like some country song
Trade the truth in for a lie, cheating really aint a crime
I'm giving up on love cause love's given up on me

Forget your high society, I'm soakin' it in Kerosene
Light 'em up and watch them burn, teach them what they need to learn HA!
Dirty hands aint made for shakin', aint a rule that aint worth breakin'
Well I'm giving up on love cause love's given up on me

Now I don't hate the one who left
You can't hate someone who's dead
He's out there holding on to someone, I'm holding up my smoking gun
I'll find somewhere to lay my blame the day she changes her last name
Well I'm giving up on love cause love's given up on me
Well I'm giving up on love HEY love's given up on me - Miranda Lambert ♫

Is today over yet...

OH. EM. GEE. Talk about a day that doesn't seem to end.

So my day started at 1:30 this morning....yup, high fever and migraine. WOOHOO. So I got my sick self out of bed and really didn't want to, but went to get my ice pack out of the freezer to help cool me down. 103 fever is never fun. I noticed it was raining and I LOVE the rain. So I look outside to watch the rain and low and behold, what do I see - I see a stranger looking at me. Just kidding that would be creepy, but I saw a stranger trying to steal my truck.

The second love of my life...

Shocker! The Texas girl drives a big effing red truck. And guess what - MINE'S BIGGER THAN YOURS!

♫ She can drive a truck and rope and ride...
She's got a pair of boots that she just loves
And like me, likes Gus From Lonesome Dove...
 - George Strait ♫

Karma is a huge thing I believe in and karma is slowly paying me back for the hell I've dealt with the last year and half. I called the cops. Lucky enough this dude was so busy checking out all the cars and circling my truck there was a police unit in the vacinity and they arrested him. Good thing because had he hurt Animal (yes, I have named my truck) he would have met my baseball bat. Turns out Dodge Trucks are a hot ticket item in San Diego. That's great, as long as it's not mine.

Michelle and I decided I should have gotten a picture of the dude to post on my blog as a warning, but sick and sleepy the thought didn't cross my mind. I should have just told him where to go for my ex's truck that way I would FINALLY stop getting late payment notices since I'm the damn co-signer on the truck.

So then I go back to sleep FINALLY around 4 and wake up at 7. Yup, 7, my alarm goes off at 6:45 am. I was that tired I just about slept through my alarm. 15 minutes longer it would have turned itself off and I would have really been screwed. So up I get, throat still swollen and I break down and call the doctor once I finally get to work in the pouring rain.

My doctor is so packed they have me see another guy. NEVER a good idea. This guy was just all sorts of cracked out. Some how I went in for my throat and fever and came out with meds for strep and a single case of sever major depression. Yeah, I'm not sure I follow either. He told me that my throat was just inflammed and it wasn't strep, but he was going to treat it like it was...something doesn't sound right.

When I went to go to the pharmacy to talk to them about my prescription I look at my paperwork and I see somehow in this visit not only did I acquire pharyngitis, but a migraine, and depression...something is not right. In all honesty I was too tired and needed to get to work that I didn't bother.

Later during the day at work they ended up calling me back, but it was the other doctor for my tumor to go in and talk about surgery options. They want me to go in tomorrow. I'm sorry, but I refuse to talk about surgery on my birthday. I told her tomorrow was not a good day. I go in next month. I'll keep ya'll posted on that.

Other than working until I got kicked out by an engineer who wanted to go home, and being called an Evil Minion by Cuddles, I got nothing for you. It was a long day and I have 8 minutes until it's over and then I get to pretend to be excited I'm a year older. I am excited to finally see what my present from Michelle is going to be though - something tells me I will be in tears from laughing so hard and so embarassed you'll be able to see me from the other side of the county! CAN'T WAIT!

I get Bug tomorrow - YAY and after days like today - he makes everything better! ♥ Nothing can go wrong when you have the love of a Bug!

Bug - 2 weeks. Time has flown by...

Harvest Festival

Bug went to his dad today. BOO. I hate having to let Bug go and it makes me sad when I don't have him. The brightside - I get him one day early this week thanks to my birthday being on Tuesday. Hopefully we will all be well enough to do something.

I have recruited Auntie Michelle to help with Bug's costume and I'm thinking a Lego. Maybe if we make it purple it will be more appealing to him. That's right, I said it, PURPLE. As I told Beth today, I am not one of those people who will restrict their son or daughter for liking a color that is not 'acceptable' by society. Society does not rule this household and if my Bug wants his favorite color to be purple they by golly - purple it is!

Speaking of Halloween we need to go out and get our pumpkin to carve. We already have one to carve:

Yeah, you're gonna have to turn your head for this one. I'm too lazy to figure out how to turn it.

For those of you with depth perception, especially when the picture is sideways, it's about the size of an apple....do they have tools we can carve with small enough for this pumpkin?? I'm thinking he's going to have to finger paint or use markers on this one!

And today was the annual Harvest Festival with Beth, Elene, Auntie Michelle, and Baby Avery. This is also my time of year I get the yearly Christmas ornament. Bug and I have a tradition where we get a ornament every year for our Christmas Tree. Yes, I know it's early, but oh well, get over it. Our Christmas tree will be up the week of Thanksgiving - I am a HUGE fan of my Christmas tree. It may not look like one of those fancy ones, but all the ornamtents are on one level because of Bug. Fine by me. I of course have the standard Texas ornaments: Astros and Longhorns. Last year Bug and I got a cowboy boot for our annual ornament.

This year:

Can't wait for the tree or Christmas!!

Unlike Auntie Michelle's neighbors who already have a wreath in the window...which surprisingly didn't shock me too much. They do have a palm tree they just cut in the front lawn, and in all honesty, it looks like a fallic symbol. I'll take a picture next time just because it makes me giggle everytime I see it.

Viva la nakie!!

So today I'm under the weather, some body aching here, some body aching there, my energy of let's do something did not exsit. In fact it was more of, lay still child, mommy can't handle any movement today. I swear the closer my birthday comes around the corner the more I fall apart. I may not make it to Tuesday. I'll have to write my will after I blog and take my quiz. I at least want to leave here with a good grade and a complete blog for a week.

♫ Go, go, go shawty
It's your birthday
We gon' party like it's yo birthday
We gon' sip Bacardi like it's your birthday
And you know we don't give a fuck
It's not your birthday! - 50 Cent ♫

Corbin's been asking me what I want for my birthday and those conversations always turn out interesting.

Bug: Mommy, what want for birthday.

Me: Kisses from you.

Bug: Gross mommy, no kisses.

Me: Okay, so then what are you going to get mommy.

Bug: I dunno, Percy (Thomas the train's friend).

Me: Oh that's nice Bug. Mommy will like Percy.

Bug: No mommy, MY Percy and MY cake and ice cream.

Me: Okay, so what do I get for my birthday?

Bug: Nothing.

How the hell did I get the short end of the stick on this one??

For the most part Corbin's been amazing in enteratining himself. There were a few threats of if he didn't put his toys away I was going to toss them. Oh don't worry. I follow through on my threats. He then opted to play with Spiderman.

Me: if you don't clean up. I'm going to call Spiderman's Mommy to come pick him up because you two are not following directions.

Bug: Spiderman no have mommy.

Me: Oh yes he does, why do you think he's got split personality?

Bug: No Mommy, you crazy girl.

Me. Try me.

He ended up picking his toys up but the whole time he called me crazy. You win some, you lose some.

Bug apparently felt the need to go the nudist way today...defiinitely my son. He went screaming into the bathroom saying he had to pee completely clothed and came out stark naked. I'm sorry...did I miss something? Apparently having to go pee requires taking off clothes now.

♫ No shoes...no shirt...no problem. - Kenny Chesney ♫

It was a sucessful day. I love being able to say - come sit with Mommy for 10 minutes and relax. When your 10 minutes are up, you can go play again...

Baking #FAIL

So yesterday I completely forgot to post about this, but I completely FAILED at my attempt to make banana nut muffins...oh so sad. The beauty of this was I was talking to Michelle while they were over for their play date and was mixing my ingredients and I'm going on and on about how long it's been since I've baked something...she looks at me and says, long enough that you have to stir your baking powder...? I look down and sure enough I am stirring it to break it up. Once I tasted the batter I just about spit it back out. The look on my face, I'm sure, said it all. I am so NOT winning Betty Crocker of the Year award. There goes THAT life long dream! Oh well. NEXT!

So my birthday is rolling around the corner here and I am sooo not looking forward to it. As I absent mindedly complained to Lace, for some reason 30 just seems to get closer every year. I get the 'are you shitting me look' and she says, "Is that how this works? Every year we get older?" AH! I'm going senial already. I'm bitching about 28 here, I don't know if I'll make it to 30, and if I do if I'll even remember it....Speaking of birthdays. I feel like I should be scared not knowing what's going to be given to me by Michelle...haha - the evil grin and laugh I got early was not reassuring! Either way it will be funny and classic. I'll be sure to post the pictures assuming they aren't too embarassing....

Today was one of those days where I really didn't give a crap about too much that was going on around me... Yes, ladies and gentelmen, that's the sign on the door to my cube which I share with Lacey. Can you believe it, they thought it would be a good idea to put best friends in the same space. FOOLS. The sticky note is because apparently the common sense our engineers lack needs to be helped by post its telling them how to operate the door.

♫ I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:.
No, sorry: nothin'. - Jo Dee Messina ♫

It was pretty much confirmed when I had frozen yogurt for lunch sometimes it's okay to do things out of the norm in order to relax a little. It was much needed by Lace and I. She had the great idea and somehow I got blamed for it...wtf. Oh well, nothing new there. It's how we roll. :)

I try to follow through on everything with Bug and for 98% of the time I'm pretty good, but I know as much as I want my child to follow rules I also want him to know how to break them and suffer the consequences. I wasn't one to think outside of the box until lately. It makes me look back and wonder how did I survive the last 27 years? Bug needs to know how to do what I didn't growing up - think outside the box. He's a very smart kid and he puts things together very quickly. I can't wait to see what troubles he starts causing as the years come by.

It has been raining so much lately, and it's been amazing to have such rain (even if SoCal drivers suck more than normal driving in it). The sunsets have been breath taking.

♫ You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record
Crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile - Uncle Kracker ♫

You can take the girl outta Texas...

...but you can't take the Texas outta the girl.

♫ There wouldn't be no Alamo,
No Cowboys in the Superbowl:
No "Lonesome Dove", no "Yellow Rose",
If it wasn't for Texas. - George Strait ♫

Something you will learn about me throughout these posts is that I am outspoken, opinonated, and I don't really give a crap what people think about me. I stand up for what I believe and I will always encourage Bug to voice his opinion with being able to understand and really listen to what other people are saying or trying to get across. I believe that you can fully be opinionated and outspoken, but still be respectful and willing to listen to what others say.

When you Remember the "Muslim" bombing of the World Trade Center (Twice)...Remember:

Remember the Christian bombing in OKC.
Remember the Christian bombing of the 1996 Olympics.
Remember the Christian bombings of the abortion clinics.
Remember the thousands of Christian lynchings of African Americans.
Remember the Christian ban of condoms in AIDS stricken Africa.
Remember the Christian bombing of an orphanage in Tripoli!
Remember the Christian bombing of an aspirin factory in Sudan!
Remember the Christian bombing of a wedding in western Iraq!
Remember the Christian CRUSADES!
Let's all just fight hate and intolerance, no matter what Religion it comes from.

Everyone has their own right to their opinion and your opinion can not be wrong. Just don't force me to believe what you believe especially when it comes to religion. No one gets to tell me what I believe, or don't believe, is wrong. I am not close minded, I am not racist, I support my LGBT community and I don't look down on someone who is different. I also don't tolerate people who are closeminded and can't accept people for who they are. I support gay marriage and I believe everyone should be treated EQUALLY in EVERY aspect of life, not just some and not the others.

Alright, so now that I'm off that soapbox...

Back to my favorite thing in the world!! BUG!

I am such a mean mother making him pose in a tree....

Before we had our weekly play date with Uncle Wade, Auntie Michelle, Baby Avery, and Uncle Scottie, Bug was helping me clean and he found his sunglasses. He wore them around the house. Both of them. At once.

Exhibit A...

He's a cute goofy kid and I love every moment of it!

Alright it looks like one of us is down for the count...guess that means it's my turn!

Until then, goodnight...

Live. Laugh. Love. Sing. Dance.

Live like there is no tomorrow.
Laugh until you cry.
Love like you have never loved before.
Sing like no one is listening.
Dance like no one is watching.

The only rules in life I have are the ones above and I am slowly rubbing off on my Bug. My best friend and partner in crime, aka Auntie Lacey, has dubbed me JukeBox. I can finish a song, I can tell you the title and artist and I will sing, threaten you and pick up where I left off. *tear* Ahhh...the good times. Trust me, you will see random songs through out my posts just because I am always singing and feel the need to share.

♫ We went out last night...like we swore we wouldn't do...♫

I present to you....Auntie Lacey!

I sing constantly, and I may suck at it, but I have fun. I have noticed more and more Bug sings the songs with me. He's learning them pretty quickly. I may have to call him 'portable jukebox'. He's slowly getting to the point where he's getting less shy and will dance with me in the kitchen or in the middle of the living room.

Whatever you do DON'T dance at the dinner table. Last time I did that, Bug told me that it was not okay. Apparently his father has a little influence in his gene pool. Not to worry, I'll fix that. No need for my son to think there are only certain times of the day it's okay to sing and dance! If his heart and body feel the need to sing and dance then he should not have to stop himself!

[Side note - I absolutely LOVE the kiss my owwie and make it better stage! The best part about this stage is if I miss the spot he says 'No Mommy - right here!! And will make me kiss it again!]

The Del Mar Pumpkin Patch

♫ For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame, trapped in the past for too long
I'm movin' on  - Rascal Flatts ♫

Music is where I find my peace now days, and I won't complain one bit. I open my heart and ears to music and when I have moments where I need to refocus myself I turn to music. I have to admit I will lean to country first, but will listen to just about anything.
There are many things Bug and I are learning as we take this journey and I have to admit, at times it gets hard, but as soon as I see his precious face I know that it's worth every moment. I've learned I am a strong person and I can only go up from here.

This is how the day ended after he spent some time with Auntie Lacey...

Until tomorrow... Bug and I bid you good night! ♥

So it begins...

So here's my attempt to keep up on a blog that family and friends can keep up with throughout the days they don't see Bug. As many my know Bug is my life, and no Bug is not his real name. It originally started when I called him Love Bug and he corrected me telling me he was my Lady Bug - so we settled for just Bug.

Meet Bug...

Bug and I are learning how to be on our own and adjusting to the life style of the two of us. Nights, like tonight, he is with his father so it's my time to catch up on work, school, house cleaning, and apparently now blogging. I'll be sure to thank Auntie Michelle tomorrow when I'm dragging my rear end out of bed and trying to decide what to post next...

Throughout the posts you will slowly meet our family.

Meet Auntie Michelle, Uncle Wade, Baby Avery, and Uncle Scottie

Bug is in the 'why' stage and has just turned three. Karma felt the need to take it easy on me (not that I'm complaining) and I have to say I have the easiest three year old ever. And no, I'm not just saying that because I'm mom, I am saying it because he really is. Terrible twos were not terrible. They were terrific. Rumor has it three is the tough year...I guess we'll find out here as the days roll on by.

As for yours truly, I am going back to school for a second degree and do procurement for a defense contracting. That's about all I can tell you, or else.... My life is my Bug and every now and again I go out and explore the life of a single person. Not too often though, it gets scary out there.

Alright - I should call it a night. Tomorrow is Corbinesday. Can't wait to kiss him! ♥
